THERE IS CURRENTLY NO FIRE BAN IN EFFECT
Combined Tax and Assessment Notices are mailed annually in May. Taxes are due on August 10th annually. An 18% penalty is applied to the unpaid current year taxes on August 11th. An 18% penalty is applied to the total arrears on January 1st of each year.
On the 2019 Combined Tax & Assessment Notice is a line named "Special Tax". The Special Tax is made up of a combined total cost of several services provided by the municipality and is levied in accordance with Section 382 of the Municipal Government Act. The Special Tax is made up of the following:
• Waterworks Tax - $8,380 ($50.18/property). This amount includes the annual operating costs to the WILD Water Commission and a $40.00 per property charge to be transferred to the Water Reserve Account.
• Sewer Tax and Sewer Facility Maintenance Tax - $32,000 ($191.61/property).The Summer Village will be invoiced this year by the North 43 Lagoon Commission for Operating & Maintenance costs for the sewer/force main.
• Fire Protection Area Tax - $16,000 ($95.81/property). This is the annual fee that the Summer Village pays to the fire service provider to ensure there is fire suppression coverage within the municipality. Should an individual property actually need fire suppression services, that individual property will be invoiced directly for the costs of their particular fire incident.
• Recreational Services Tax - $48,800 ($292.22/property). This is the annual cost to maintain the municipal reserve areas within the Summer Village.
Total Special Tax - $105,180 divided by 167 properties = $629.82/property.
Has Your Mailing Address Changed?
Please inform the Administration Office if your mailing address has changed to ensure you receive your mail from the Summer Village 587-873-5765. You should also notify Alberta Land Titles of the change - 780-427-2742 Land Titles Address Change Form.
Taxes can be paid on-line or through telephone banking at the following financial institutions

Payments can also be mailed to: Box 8, Alberta Beach, AB T0E 0A0 - Please ensure cheques are made payable to the "Summer Village of Yellowstone". Envelopes must be postmarked on or before the tax due date.
Payments can be dropped off at the Municipal Office at 4808-51 Street, Onoway, AB. There is an after-hours drop-off slot available.

Monthly Tax Payment Plan
Take advantage of the Tax Payment Plan. By making equal monthly installments, you will avoid penalties and the need for a large lump-sum payment. Contact the office for more information at 587-873-5765.

Tax Certificates & Searches
Tax Certificates are $25.00 each and can be requested via email at email@example.com with proof of payment. Please make payment payable to the Summer Village of Yellowstone. There is no charge for a tax search.
